John Krasinski got jacked for his turn as a U.S. Navy Seal in 13 Hours, and credits his still-buff physique for having a better sex life.

John Krasinski On Being Jacked

Krasinski, who is married to actress Emily Blunt, thinks that life is better with rock hard abs — particularly when it comes to sex. “Totally selfishly, it’s so much better for me being jacked because you feel so much more confident,” Krasinski told Elle magazine. “And you see yourself as this much more sexual person, which is really fun.”

The Office alum admitted that Blunt, who married him when he wasn’t hitting the gym quite so often, wouldn’t mind if he lost some of his muscle mass. However, Krasinski doesn’t think she minds having a buffer husband. “The truth is, she really is that person who would like me any way,” he said. “But I don’t think she’s going to kick the eight-pack abs out of bed.”

While Krasinski isn’t quite as jacked as he was while filming the Benghazi movie, he’s motivated to keep hitting the weights.

“I’m not as big as I was in 13 Hours, because… I would scare my children,” Krasinski said. “But I’ve stayed working out [because] Chris Pratt [said that] once he got there, he never wanted to go back, and I totally understand… Why would you give it all up once you did that?”

Krasinski is currently promoting his second directorial effort, The Hollars, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. The family dramedy stars Krasinski as a comic book artist who is expecting twins with his girlfriend (Anna Kendrick) when he learns that his mother (Margo Martindale) has an advanced brain tumor.

The Hollars hits select theaters tomorrow
