John Fetterman Comes For Dr. Oz Again With Video Message From Stevie Van Zandt

John Fetterman and Dr. Oz, who are the Democratic and Republican Senate nominees in Pennsylvania respectively, have been sparring online in the leadup to this year’s general election. With a spate of New Jersey celebrities to help him out including Snooki and now Steven Van Zandt, Fetterman is lapping Oz in the online side of this race.

“Whaddya doing in Pennsylvania? Everyone knows you live in New Jersey and you’re just using your in-laws’ address over there,” Van Zandt said in the selfie video. “Nobody wants to see you get embarrassed. So come on back to Jersey where you belong.”

Fetterman hopes to flip this seat held by retiring Republican Sen. Pat Toomey and has been hitting at former TV personality Mehmet Oz for changing his residency from New Jersey to Pennsylvania in 2020 and then running for office soon after.

Van Zandt is a guitarist and singer who is famously a member of Bruce Springsteen‘s E Street Band and also delivered a memorable mafioso performance as Silvio Dante in The Sopranos. No matter how you slice it, Van Zandt clearly has a ton of Jersey cred, which makes the video all the funnier as he attempts to welcome Oz back in the fold.

Fetterman served as the mayor of the city of Braddock, Pennsylvania, from 2006 to 2019, when he became the 34th lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania. He also ran for Senate once before in 2016 but finished third in the Democratic primary.

These viral bits have been very effective so far, especially since Fetterman’s campaign was stalled after his primary victory when he suffered a stroke and went through surgery to get a pacemaker and defibrillator installed. Along with Dr. Oz’s residency, Fetterman’s camp has also been continuously criticizing him for his exorbitant wealth and praise of Donald Trump.
