Podcaster Joe Rogan declared on social media that he did not intend to endorse independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience.
On August 8, Rogan said on his podcast that politicians on the left and right “gaslight” and “manipulate” people. He also said politicians on both sides “promote narratives” before adding that “the only one not doing that is Robert F. Kennedy Jr.”
Rogan then admitted that he is “a fan” of the independent presidential candidate. “He’s the only one that makes sense to me,” the podcaster asserted. “He’s the only one that doesn’t attack people; he attacks actions and ideas, but he’s much more reasonable and intelligent. I mean, the guy was an environmental attorney and cleaned up the East River. He’s – he’s a legitimate guy.”
On the same day this podcast episode aired, Kennedy thanked Rogan on X “for always putting substance first.
One day later, however, Rogan clarified on X that what he said about the candidate on his podcast “wasn’t an endorsement.”
“This is me saying that I like RFK Jr. as a person, and I really appreciate the way he discusses things with civility and intelligence,” he added. “I think we could use more of that in this world.”
He also praised the former president’s response to his attempted assassination last month.
“I’m not the guy to get political information from,” he admitted.
On Friday, the former president went to Truth Social to share his displeasure with Rogan’s alleged endorsement of Kennedy.
“It will be interesting to see how loudly Joe Rogan gets BOOED the next time he enters the UFC Ring,” he wrote, alluding to the podcaster’s failed kickboxing career.
During an appearance on Lex Fridman’s podcast in July 2022, Rogan admitted that he rejected many opportunities to interview the former president.
