Joe Jackson Funeral: Patriarch Buried In Same Cemetery As Son Michael Jackson

Joe Jackson, the patriarch of the musical Jackson family, was laid to rest at a private ceremony at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California, the same cemetery that his son Michael was buried in ten years ago. He died last week from pancreatic cancer at the age of 89.

Jackson is survived by nine of his eleven children and multiple grandchildren. Some of his relatives have posted tributes on social media since his passing. His granddaughter Paris Jackson, Michael’s daughter, posted a lengthy remembrance on Instagram, in which she noted his belief that he will go down as “one of the greatest patriarchs to ever live.”

Joe Jackson was born on July 26, 1928, in Fountain Hill, Arkansas. He had been suffering from a series of health problems in his final years in addition to the cancer. He had a stroke in 2012 and then another in 2015 and he was in a car accident just last year.
