Joe Exotic from the Netflix series Tiger King has sent out a new letter to “supporters, fans, and loved ones,” where he claims that he will “be dead in 2-3 months” if he continues to stay in jail.
The letter begins with Exotic, 57, asking fans to ask President Donald Trump to “keep his word” and pardon him now that “the pandemic is over.”
“My soul is dead,” he wrote in the letter. “I struggle everyday to hold on to what little hope I can find, they keep me locked up 24/7 with no phone, email, or commissary and you will never understand what this does to a person.”
He then shifted focus to talk about his husband Dillon Passage, 22, who he married in 2017.
“I don’t even know if I’m married anymore,” he wrote. “Seems everyone is so busy making money and being famous I don’t get even a letter from Dillon.” He went on to ask that fans stop sending him pictures of Dillon partying while he “lives this Hell.” At the end of the letter he requests that Michael Jackson’s “Will You Be There” is played for Passage, and asks Passage, “Will he?”
Exotic claimed that he is not getting the proper medical care in prison, and that he’s “losing weight, sores won’t heal, I’ll be dead in 2-3 months.”
He even compared himself to George Floyd, the black man whose death inspired marches against police violence around the world. Floyd died in Minneapolis after a white police officer kneeled on his neck for almost 9 minutes.
“Are we the wrong color?” he asked of himself and fellow inmates. He went on to write that “it’s like George Floyd. His message got lost in the riots, my message got abandoned by money and fame.” He also called out the other Tiger King stars who have used the docuseries’ success for money and fame.
The letter ended with Exotic calling out for help from Cardi B and Kim Kardashian:
“Please ladies I’ve done nothing wrong, but act a fool to protect my zoo from arson and people hurting my animals.”
Exotic is serving a 22-year sentence for putting together a murder-for-hire plot to kill Carole Baskin, as well as falsifying wildlife records and violating the Endangered Species Act.
