The White House was the site of a gorgeous wedding over the weekend as President Joe Biden’s granddaughter Naomi Biden married her fiancée Peter Neal. Naomi is the eldest daughter of Hunter Biden, whom he had with his first wife Kathleen Buhle.

Hunter and Kathleen were present for the ceremony as well as the President and First Lady Jill Biden. Both of Naomi’s parents walked her down the aisle, and Naomi wore a gorgeous gown and veil designed by Ralph Lauren for the ceremony.

It was a bit of a chilly morning as guests first arrived at the South Lawn around 11 a.m. on Saturday, and guests were provided with blankets and shawls while they waited. Elements of the wedding program included a vocal performance by the father of the groom: Dr. William Neal, and a reading of the E.E. Cummings poem “I Carry Your Heart With Me.”

After the ceremony, there was a small luncheon for the family and wedding party, then a black tie party that went from around 7 p.m. to midnight. Apparently, the wedding cake was so many tiers that the couple walked up a step ladder to start slicing it.

Naomi is reportedly quite close with her grandparents and even moved into the White House in August. She works as a lawyer, and her new husband Peter also just graduated from Law School at the University of Pennsylvania and now works at the Georgetown University Law Center.

Naomi’s father Hunter has notably struggled with addiction issues for much of his life, and right-wing figures have repeatedly used Hunter’s problems and other theories around his conduct as a way to try and find fault in his father.
