Vice President Joe Biden will appear on the Oscars stage Sunday night to introduce Lady Gaga‘s performance of “Til It Happens To You.”

Joe Biden & Lady Gaga

Biden will be in attendance at the 2016 Oscars with his wife Jill Biden to introduce Lady Gaga, an administration official told the Los Angeles Times. “Til It Happens To You,” the song Lady Gaga cowrote with songwriter Diane Warren for the documentary film about campus sexual assault, The Hunting Ground, is nominated for the Best Original Song Oscar.

During his productive tenure in the United States Senate, Biden was the main author of the 1994 Violence Against Women Act, making him a more than fitting choice as the one to introduce Gaga’s performance.

“The song is resonant for sexual assault, and resonant for anything difficult: maybe something traumatic happened; this song can help,” Warren blogged on The Huffington Post. “It gives an empowering voice to something people are too afraid to talk about. And the song is giving back to colleges. There’s an a capella competition at the White House, with groups all sending in their versions of ‘”Til it Happens to You.'”

Warren and Gaga’s “Till It Happens To You” will be up against The Weeknd’s “Earned It,” Sam Smith‘s “Writing’s on the Wall,” Antony Hergary and J. Ralph‘s “Manta Ray” and David Lang‘s “Simple Song #3.”
