Actress Joan Collins may have looked elegant on Oscar night in her form-fitting lavender dress (pictured above), designed by Georges Hobeika, but the discomfort it caused her was downright dangerous.

The 77-year-old Dynasty star was living it up at the exclusive Vanity Fair post-Oscar bash when she started to feel faint, reports the New York Post's Page Six. Around 10 p.m. she was escorted from the party and led to rest on a sofa in the Sunset Tower Hotel's bar while her husband, Percy Gibson, called an ambulance.

After she was helped to the ambulance, examined at the hospital, and given a clean bill of health, Collins chalked the whole thing up to a poor wardrobe choice. "The truth was, I made the wrong decision to wear a very tight dress, and had something rather like a Victorian swoon," she told the paper. "The good news is, I am in good health and feel fine today." —KIMBERLY STEELE
