Jimmy Kimmel, who is hosting the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards, rolled out the red carpet at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, Calif., Wednesday.
Kimmel appeared to be catching a rest on a roll of red carpet during the Emmy Awards press preview day yesterday. The late night show host and comedian was suited up for the occasion, where he took the time to pose on the carpet that had yet to be rolled out. “The worst part of hosting the #Emmys is laying down all the carpet,” Kimmel quipped on Instagram.
When Kimmel takes to the Emmy stage over the weekend, it will mark the second time that he’s hosted the awards show. He previously hosted it back in 2012, when he learned a few things that informed how he approached this year’s show.
“[They’re] mostly little things you learn about what works and how to approach the show and how prepared you need to be going in,” Kimmel told the Los Angeles Times. “The last time, we shot a big chunk of the show the day of. I decided that was a bad idea and we should never do that again.”
Kimmel added, “Everybody wants to know what I’m going to do, but [not saying anything] is part of the fun. It’s like asking what the end of a movie is before you get into it. It’s just inherently ridiculous.”
The Primetime Emmy Awards will air live on ABC at 7 p.m. EST.
