Jimmy Fallon & Will Smith Perform A History Of Theme Songs [VIDEO]
Will Smith was the guest on Thursday’s airing of Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show and showed off both his singing and his love for theme songs through a hilarious mash-up of some of television’s best songs.
The two joined forces to create the “History of TV Theme Songs,” which is a spin-off on Fallon’s “History of Rap.” Smith joined Fallon on stage and performed a medley of the most iconic theme songs in television history. With the help of the Roots, they sang through a four-minute medley with songs from Martin, Full House, Diff’rent Strokes, Golden Girls, The Jeffersons, Dave’s World, Good Times and Three’s Company. The duo even whistled to The Andy Griffith Show theme.
The most notable and iconic was their final song which was a rendition of Smith’s own iconic theme song from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Smith and Fallon jumped around through the audience while rapping the lyrics.

Smith also talked on the show about his recent joining into the world of social media and his newly created YouTube channel.
“When you make a movie, it’s 18 months. You work and it’s 18 months until you see the movie,” he says. “There were so many things that were dying on my creative vine. When I did the Fresh Prince it was every single day and the show came out once a week. So I’m going to be doing skits, I’m going to be short films, music, I’ve started recording again.”
