Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak made their first official trip down the red carpet together as a couple on Friday at the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN) awards, where they accepted the GLSEN Inspiration Award.

“I’ve never considered myself an activist. I’ve never considered my relationship with Todd to be an act of activism. Rather simply, it’s an act of love, coffee in the morning, going to work, washing the clothes, taking the dogs [out] – a regular life, boring love,” Parsons said when accepting the award.

Parsons, an Emmy winning actor from The Big Bang Theory, and Spiewak, a graphic designer, have been together for over ten years, but are notoriously private. Their acceptance speech did not reveal many details of their relationship, and Parsons mentioned embracing the normality of their love in his speech.

“If we are indeed inspiration to others by simply being who we are and living our lives in the way that feels right to us then we have to thank the same people who help any other couple who continue a successful relationship – our friends and family,” Parsons said.

As for what lies ahead for the couple, Spiewak told reporters on the red carpet that the two "have no plans” to get married.
