Jim Gaffigan Presents His Self-Serving Father’s Day Gift Guide On ‘The Tonight Show’

Jim Gaffigan, father of five, came on Friday’s episode of The Tonight Show to share his guide to gift giving for Father’s Day.

Gaffigan started off by acknowledging, “A lot of people might not think it’s the most important holiday or frankly as important as Cinco De Mayo, but it really is an important day.” He then added a plug for his show which premiered on Father’s Day.

Some initial suggestions included a tie, a drill, a Swiss Army knife and a beer helmet. Gaffigan didn’t express enthusiasm until host Jimmy Fallon brought out a giant gummy worm, which Gaffigan said he received from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Disregarding his initial recommendations, Gaffigan went on to show what he really thinks would be great gifts for Father’s Day.

He advised that dads would appreciate reading material and suggested his books Dad Is Fat and Food: A Love Story. “I’m not here to promote my stuff. It’s about finding a gift for dad,” he said.

After recommending quality time with dad, Gaffigan suggested tickets to his comedy show Jim Gaffigan Fully Dressed. “I don’t want you to think I’m taking advantage of this segment. It’s not just about me plugging my stuff,” he said.

Fallon jumped in the, visibly but jokingly irritated, “No, this is unbelievable. This Sunday, we kept hearing it. Jim Gaffigan. Yeah, we know who you are.”
