Jill Scott married long-time boyfriend Mike Dobson on Saturday.

The quiet ceremony became known after social media posts by friend of the groom, DJ Mars.

He posted, the now deleted photos, on instragram with the following captions:

“So my man called me a year ago and said, ‘Mars I need you to DJ my wedding…don’t get booked on June 25th 2016!'” the DJ wrote. “He came to my house and gave me the deposit early, but he didn’t say he was marrying Jill Scott!!!!! Damn homie!!!!!!!!!!”

“This wedding made my summer!” Mars continued. “I’ve known Mike for almost 20 years, but dude could have alluded to the fact that he was marrying Jill Scott(lol)! All he said was, u are working with her in Vegas. He’s a total class act, he won with the wedding! #djmarsapproved.”

Dobson surprised his wife on their wedding day with a performance from Big Daddy Cane that only he and DJ Mars knew about.

The newly wed couple also got a shout out from Chance the Rapper.

Scott was previously married to Lyzel Williams for six years before splitting. She also shares a seven-year old son with drummer Li’l John Roberts.
