Jill Duggar and her husband Derrick Dillard, stars of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting, welcomed their first child together Monday, April 6.
Duggar, 23, and Dillard, 26, are now parents to a son they’ve named Israel David, People reported Tuesday.
Jill’s parents Jim Bob and Michelle celebrated the baby news on Facebook. “We are so thankful for a healthy Mom and baby!” they wrote. “Love this sweet baby Israel! We are happy grandparents and we promise more pictures soon!”
Jill’s sister Jessa, who is married to Ben Seewald, also congratulated the couple over social media. “Congrats to my sister @jillmdillard, and brother-in-law, @derickdillard, on the birth of their beautiful baby boy, Israel David Dillard!” she captioned a picture of the new mom and dad with Israel. “Born last night at 11:49pm! 9lbs 10oz & 23in. long!”
Jill’s first due date for her firstborn was March 24, but the reality TV star admitted that she was “planning on [him] coming late.”
“I have told myself, ‘First-time moms often go a week and a half over, so don’t get discouraged,’ ” she told People magazine last month. “When everyone else is asking you, ‘When are you going to have that baby?’ The baby will come when the baby comes.”
Jill and Derrick began courting in Nov. 2013. They wed in late June 2014 after a two-month engagement.
