In an impassioned appeal, President Joe Biden’s wife, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, has called on Americans to “choose good over evil” by supporting her husband in the upcoming 2024 election.
In an interview on ABC’s The View, the first lady offered a glimpse into the administration’s campaign strategy and addressed concerns about the president’s age.
With emphasis on the high stakes of the election, Jill asserted, “This election is not about age. I mean, Donald Trump‘s going to be, what? 78? Joe’s 81. They’re basically the same age, right? But it’s about character. This election is about character, so you have two choices — you have my husband, Joe, who you all know, who has integrity, he’s strong, he’s steady, he’s a leader, he’s smart, he’s energetic — or you have chaos.”
Jill pledged that the Biden campaign would not “take anything for granted” and promised to engage with voters nationwide, from college campuses to every state they can access.
“And those polls are going to turn, I’m confident of it, because as time goes on, as people start to focus a little bit more about what’s at stake and start to become educated on the issues and the differences between them — the two men — I believe that Americans are going to choose good over evil,” she said.
The first lady also offered a preview of the upcoming presidential debate, scheduled for June 27. She emphasized that the debate format has been designed to prevent disruptions, with microphones being turned off to prevent “rambling or screaming.”
Jill echoed host Joy Behar’s characterization of the former president as “someone who can’t put a sentence together” and declared that the American people “deserve to see the two men who are running for this office because your choice is going to be clear.”
Jill recently called Trump a danger to the “LGBTQ community” in a speech to a prominent gay rights organization.
