Jets’ QB Aaron Rodgers Says He’s Lost Friends Due To Conservative Views: ‘It Was Heartbreaking’
A new trailer for the new Netflix documentary Aaron Rodgers: Enigma showed New York Jets’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers revealing that his controversial opinions have strained his relationships with friends and family.
Rodgers came under fire a few years ago when he accused the “woke cancel culture” of attempting to stop him from expressing himself as well as questioning the Covid-19 vaccine. He later admitted he deceived the public when he claimed he was “immunized” against Covid-19, before he later contracted the disease in November 2021.
In the three-part Netflix documentary, the New York Jets star, who has struggled this season, revealed his comments caused him to start “losing friendships, family. It was heartbreaking.”
Rogers continued in the trailer, “I live between two worlds of the extroverted and an introverted love of silence…I’m trying to beat back Father Time and the expectations.”
Rodgers has been estranged from his parents and two brothers for almost a decade. Although Rodgers has been notoriously private about the matter, his brother, Jordan, revealed details about the separation in his 2016 stint on The Bachelorette. Jordan ended up marrying that season’s bachelorette, JoJo Fletcher, in 2022.
In July of that year, Rodgers addressed his brother’s revelations, telling WISN 12 News that he found it “a little inappropriate” to discuss family matters with the public and refused to comment further on the relationship.
Rodgers revealed earlier this year that he had been offered the position of being Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s running mate in the 2024 election but ultimately turned it down; Kennedy later ended his independent campaign.
Aaron Rodgers: Enigma is set to arrive on the streaming platform on Dec. 17.
