Jesus Salgado, Parolee On Early Release, Arrested For Murders Of Immigrant Family Trying To Live ‘American Dream’

Last week, Jasleen Kaur, Jasdeep Singh, their 8-month-old child Aroohi Dheri, and Jasdeep’s brother Amandeep Singh were found murdered in a farm area near Merced, California.

“Tonight, our worst fears have been confirmed,” Merced County sheriff Vern Warnke started with this statement during a press conference.

The family of Indian immigrants had moved to the San Fransisco area to live the “American Dream,” buying a trucking business.

On Monday, police charged Jesus Salgado, who worked for the trucking company and was out on early-release parole for a similar crime he committed 20 years earlier, with kidnapping and the murders of the family members.

Relatives have set up a GoFundMe page, which has raised over $275,000 so far.

“This is the story of our shared American Dream gone wrong; our loving family was violently taken away from us on October 3,” the page reads. “As immigrants to America, they worked tirelessly for 18 years to achieve safety, security and community for themselves and their families. Aman and Jasdeep were the primary bread earners for the family, supported by their elderly parents and lived under one roof. We are grateful for the prayers and tremendous support [that] was shown to us by our community. While nothing can fill this void, your prayers and donations will support the upbringing and education of Ekam (6) and Seerat (9) and provide financial relief to herself as well as her in-laws.”

A video recording revealed the family being confronted by a man holding a firearm who coerced them into the back of a truck that left the area, returning later without the abductees.

On October 3, a farmer recovered a phone belonging to one of the victims.

The family of the suspect contacted authorities concerned that the 48-year-old man was somehow involved in the horrifying kidnapping and killing.
