Jessie Nizewitz Sues For $10 Million After Genitals Are Exposed On 'Dating Naked'

Jessie Nizewitz, 28, a cast member on Dating Naked, filed a $10 million law suit after VH1 failed to censor a shot of her genitals.

Dating Naked, VH1’s newest matchmaking reality show, features contestants who meet and then date completely in the nude. However, because it is a basic cable network, all breasts and genitals must be blurred.

Dating Naked Aired Uncensored Images Of Contestant

In the episode featuring Nizewitz, the network failed to censor her completely during a scene in which she and her naked date playfully wrestled on the beach. As described in the suit, “The episode, as broadcast, shows Plaintiff’s wrestling takedown of her date, but Defendants did not blur out her vagina and anus, which were fully exposed to all viewers.”

While some might dismiss her lawsuit – she did consent to be filmed naked – Nizewitz claims that producers assured her that the footage would never air uncensored during filming.

“Although I went on this show knowing that I would be nude while taping it I was told that my private parts would be blurred for TV. If you watch an episode, you will see that the blur actually makes it less revealing than a bikini would. Obviously, I did not expect the world to see my private parts, this is not what I anticipated or what any other contestants on the show anticipated,” Nizewitz said in a statement.

Nizewitz is suing Viacom, VH1’s parent company, and two production companies associated with the show for $10 million in damages, citing “severe emotional distress.”

“I felt lied to, manipulated and used. I was horrified,” Nizewitz told The NY Post.

Nizewitz claims that, in addition to inspiring online bullying from viewers, the shot caused her a huge embarrassment among her family and friends. The suit alleges that the lack of censorship caused Nizewitz “severe emotional distress, mental anguish, humiliation, and embarrassment.

“I think they owe me a huge apology,” Nizewitz told the Post.

It’s unclear whether newly censored versions of the episode have aired since the original, or whether or not VH1 will face other fines for their lack of censorship.
