Jessica Simpson Reveals Split From Eric Johnson After 10 Years Of Marriage Amid Fan Concerns About Her Dramatic Weight Loss

Singer Jessica Simpson announced that she and former NFL player Eric Johnson have separated after being married for more than ten years.

Simpson and Johnson married at the San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California, in July 2014.

On Jan, 13, the singer announced their separation in a statement.

“Eric and I have been living separately, navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson said in the statement. “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and we appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”

She and the ex-NFL player share two daughters, Maxwell Drew and Birdie Mae, and one son, Ace Knute.

In November 2024, she provoked rumors of Johnson and her splitting while teasing new music.

“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” Simpson wrote in an Instagram post. “This comeback is personal; it’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.”

“I am guessing she is divorced because she has been cryptic for months,” one Instagram user speculated in this comment section. “Amazing, no one can stay with a spouse for better or worse. So sad.”

“Obviously single again,” another user claimed in the comments.

“So you’re getting divorced,” still another wondered.

Johnson sent speculation into overdrive when he was photographed walking around Los Angeles without his wedding ring last month.

In November 2024, Simpson celebrated seven years of an alcohol-free lifestyle after rebuffing drinking accusations three months prior. 

Fans have been increasingly concerned about Simpson’s dranatic weight loss over recent months, expressing alarm at her “new look.”
