Jessica Simpson Posts Emotional Video Responding To Fans About Dramatic Weight Loss & Unrecognizable New Look

Jessica Simpson has responded to concerned fans about her drastic weight loss and unrecognizable new look.

In a video ad for Pottery Barn Kids posted to Instagram last week, Simpson’s fans noted that she looked “frail”  and “unhealthy.” 

On Sunday, she shared an Instagram video responding to the criticism. The 42-year-old belted out her 2020 song “Party of One” in a candlelit room.

“I’m not weak ‘cause I don’t want to fight,” she sang passionately, looking into the camera. “I am more than my body, more than my wealth, more than these demons holding me down.”

Simpson captioned the video with a message to her fans about the comments on her appearance and health. She said she was in the studio to “heal.”

“As much as I have learned to block out destructive noise… peoples’ comments and judgments can still hurt you deeply with their incessant nagging ‘you will never be good enough,’” the singer wrote. “The most important thing I have learned through the last 5 years without alcohol being a guard for escapism, is that I CAN and ALWAYS WILL get through it.”

The star has been open on social media about her alcoholism and sobriety.

In November 2021, Simpson shared a photo of herself which she called “unrecognizable,” writing that she had started a sobriety journey in 2017 to “take back my light, show victory over my internal battle of self-respect and brave this world with piercing clarity.” 

She’s also shared that fitness has been an important part of getting sober, revealing that she’d had a major weight loss in September 2019. The mother-of-three lost 100 pounds in six months, just a few months after giving birth to her daughter Birdie.

In her most recent post, Simpson gave her followers a word of advice.

“Live inside your dreams and move through them,” she wrote. “Don’t give up on yourself because someone else did. Stay true to YOU. It has worked for me in this chaotic life thus far.”
