Netflix has just announced that they are renewing the hit series Jessica Jones for a second season. The show, starring Krysten Ritter, as the fierce private detective premiered in November with critics praising the show for its originality and captivating episodes. Fans also agreed when it came to its success.
The show centers around Jones when she got superpowers after an accident that killed her parents. The villain in the series, Kilgrave, is played by David Tennant. Executive-produced by Melissa Rosenberg, the series also stars Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Trish Walker, and Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth.
Netflix is jumping into more Marvel-inspired shows including Season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil that will premiere in March, while the upcoming Luke Cage and the in-development series surrounding Iron Fist and the Defenders have yet to be scheduled. A series starring Jon Bernthal’s the Punisher is also reportedly in development.
