Jessica Chastain’s boyfriend Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo is rarely seen at her side. Chastain, the star of Zero Dark Thirty and The Help, has recently been discussing the reasons why she’s been keeping her relationship with the fashion executive out of the public eye.
"Seeing all these interviews with actors talking about 'loves of their lives' and then they break up in a year and you're thinking, 'What if something happens and they end up being a total jerk?'" she joked to E! News. "Then you forever have these pictures of you standing on the red carpets together.
"I'm so private … Sometimes when someone asks me about my dating status, I get really quiet about that because I want to protect it," Chastain added. "When I'm engaged someday — who knows to who — I'll probably be more open about it."
Chastain’s engagement to de Preposulo could be sooner then the two-time Oscar nominee is letting on. "They've been dating seriously for awhile now and Gian really likes her," a source tells Us Weekly, before revealing the pair has a pact to keep their relationship private.
Although Chastain and de Preposulo weren’t photographed on the red carpet together at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, they were spotted strolling arm and arm down the steps of the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in France.
