Jessica Alba Reveals Her Father Mark Alba Is Battling Thyroid Cancer

Actress Jessica Alba revealed late Sunday night that her father, Mark Alba, has thyroid cancer.

In an Instagram post, the actress shared the news with a video of the father/daughter duo doing a dance routine. “My #papasito is about to SLAY #thyroidcancer,” she captioned the clip. “Starting his radiation therapy mañana #LetsGo @markdalba #yougotthis.”

The comment section was flooded with love and support from fans and celebrity friends, including Mindy Kaling, Vanessa Bryant, Naomi Campbell, Rachel Zoe and Gabrielle Union.

“You got this @markalba,” wrote Alba’s L.A.’s Finest co-star.

Mark Alba’s real estate company shared more insight on his diagnosis in an Instagram post. “It’s about to get real personal,” they wrote. “So, bigger things than business have been going on in the background. As a family and a team we have been dealing with health scares and some of us have had Covid and recovered. Mark in particular has battled Covid-19 and thyroid cancer (the reason he’s showing off his new neck scar) in the past few months, with some radiation on the way for healing.”

“He’s feeling positive and feeling great right now. It takes a lot to keep Mark down. Wishing our team captain 💙 ALL THE BEST 💙 as he takes care of his health in these next weeks. Stay tuned to his Instagram at @markdalba–we’re encouraging him to keep us all posted,” the company continued.
