Jesse Spencer, 32, is back on House after a four-episode absence at the beginning of this season, and his character Dr. Robert Chase is trying to play nice with the new team of doctors.
"They have their disagreements," he said of Chase and the new crowd, reports Entertainment Weekly. "They have different clashes and different ways of doing things, but there is also a sort of nurturing — for lack of a better term. The [returning] characters give hints to the new characters about why House might be doing what he's doing or which direction we think we should be going."
But don't be fooled by Spencer's early absence this season. This promises to be a Chase-heavy season. "They're writing for me a lot in every episode, and I think it's going to be Chase's best season," Spencer said, even revealing that his character may have a budding romance somewhere in his future with new doc Jessica Adams, played by Odette Annable. "Adams is a very good-looking doctor — House points it out straightaway, as he tends to do. And there's a definite attraction between Chase and Adams, and we have some flirty scenes, but whether they actually go down that path or not, I'm not really sure."
To find out what happens next with Chase and his flirt-buddy, catch House on Mondays at 9 p.m.
