Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald of 19 Kids and Counting exchanged their wedding vows over the weekend in front of friends and family, but opted to share their first kiss in private.

Jessa Duggar, Ben Seewald First Kiss

Jessa, 21, and Ben, 19, waited until their wedding day to share their first kiss, similarly to Duggar's older sister Jill and her new husband Derick Dillard. However, unlike Jill and Derick, Jessa and Ben wanted their first kiss to be in private and not in front of everyone who turned out for their wedding ceremony.

"They wanted their very first kiss ever to be in private," Pastor Mike Schadt told People exclusively. "It was important to the both of them."

Since Jessa and Ben wouldn not be kissing during the wedding, Schadt called upon Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar to kiss one another, telling the congregation, "So, now you've seen a Duggar kiss."

Jessa also opted to shift away with tradition in her dress choice. Instead of going with a white dress, Jessa went with a blush gown with a beaded bodice of Swarovski crystals and pearls. It was the second dress the young bride had tried on at Tesori Bridal in Fayetteville, Ark. As for Seewald, he sported a navy suit dark pink bowtie.

The couple, wanting the wedding to represent their unique tastes, didn't have a wedding cake at their reception. For desert, they decided on ice cream sundaes. "I don't really like cake," Jessa explained to People. "We wanted ice cream sundaes instead."

Jessa and Ben's wedding will appear on a future episode of 19 Kids and Counting.
