MTV is reviving Jersey Shore in 2018 with all but one of the original cast members.
The revival will be called Jersey Shore Family Vacation, and will feature Deena Nicole Cortese, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Margo, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. The only original cast member not mentioned in the press release is Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola. Her on-again, off-again romance with Ronnie was a major part of the first series.
JWOWW teased the announcement on Instagram with a photo of the crew. “🚨🚨MAJOR #JerseyShore news during the premiere of @FloribamaShore tonight at 10/9c on @MTV! Get ready! #MTVFloribamaShore 🚨🚨🚨,” she wrote. MTV announced the return during the premiere of Floribama Shore.
Jersey Shore ran for six seasons from 2009 through 2012. Various spinoffs have come and gone, including Floribama Shore, the second installment of MTV’s Shore franchise, which premiered on Monday. Original series creator SallyAnn Salsano and her production company 495 Productions will produce the reboot. Salsano will serve again as executive producer alongside Nina L. Diaz and Jackie French, who will exec produce for MTV.
The latest Jersey Shore reunion happened on a special on E! in a docuseries featuring Snooki, Jwoww, Pauly D, Mike The SItuation, and Sammi Sweetheart. The series saw them rehash their glory days on Jersey Shore, and now they can create new memories for MTV next year.
