Jeremy Renner, who is fiercely protective of his private life, finally confirmed that he and his longtime girlfriend Sonni Pacheco are married.

Renner, 43, revealed that Pacheco is indeed his wife during a recent interview with Capitol File. "I have tried to protect my family's privacy, my wife's privacy. I don't need her to get hammered with my life," says Renner, who wore a wedding band to a screening of Kill the Messenger. "Privacy issues are important because I want her to go about her day without being bothered."

Renner and Pacheco welcomed a daughter, Ava, in March 2013. The two-time Oscar nominee said that having a child in his 40s, after he'd achieved a certain amount of success in Hollywood, worked out well for him. "It's the best thing I have ever done – doing it later on in life. By then I achieved a lot of things that I wanted to achieve; I'm so blessed for that. Now I can really spend time with the family."

Now that he's married with a child, Renner is constantly weighing whether or not it's more important for his family's well-being that he put in more work or if it's time to head home for some time with Pacheco and Ava.

"The only thing that has changed is my perspective on things," said Renner of fatherhood. "I still work, probably even more. It used to be for myself so I'm not old and broke. All these things I still do, but I do it now for the future of my baby, and if it gets in the way of her well-being, then I stop."

In addition to Kill the Messenger, Renner has completed work on Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is set to hit theaters next May. He's currently filming Mission: Impossible 5 and is set to star in the Untitiled Jason Bourne Sequel as Aaron Cross.
