‘Donnie Loves Jenny’ TV Show
A&E has given a 10-episode order for Donnie Loves Jenny, a show that will document the early days of McCarthy and Wahlberg’s marriage. The first episode of the reality series will be a one-hour special featuring their Aug. 31 nuptials. The following nine episodes will be a half-hour, reported Deadline.
The dynamic between McCarthy and Wahlberg was first documented for reality TV on A&E’s Wahlburgers, created by the Wahlberg brothers about their Boston-area burger joint. “Viewers have enjoyed following Donnie and Jenny’s relationship on Wahlburgers and we look forward to sharing this next part of their journey,” said David McKillop, General Manager and Executive Vice President of A&E.
Following the announcement of Donnie Loves Jenny, Wahlberg and McCarthy released a statement about the exciting joint venture.
“Not only have we found a new home together, we have found the perfect place for our exciting new projects to live with A&E Network,” they said. “We’re so excited about this deal and look forward to a long and successful relationship creating entertaining and provocative unscripted programming with our partners at A&E. Our feeling is, who better to make our first show for the network about than about us? We love working together and with our crazy schedules this gives us the chance to both work and play together.”
Since leaving The View earlier this year, citing a highly restrictive environment, McCarthy sought greener pastures at SiriusXM, where she’s launched morning radio show Dirty, Sexy, Funny with Jenny McCarthy.
Wahlberg currently stars on Blue Bloods as Danny Reagan and is a member of New Kids on the Block.
