As the finalization of her divorce draws near, Jennifer Lopez is reportedly excited to “close the door” on her “nightmare” relationship with Ben Affleck.
Lopez and Affleck officially settled their divorce last week, though it will not be finalized until late February.
After a storied romance, in which they met and were engaged in 2004, broke up and reunited to be married in 2022, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on their second anniversary, listing their date of separation as April 26, 2024.
Although Lopez was photographed at Affleck’s house on Sunday, prompting rumors of the two reconciling, a source close to the actress asserted the two are “not getting back together.”
On Tuesday, an insider close to Lopez told People, “The fairy tale she was promised turned out to be a nightmare in the end.” They further informed that Lopez is “in a really good place,” and is ready to “close the door on this crazy chapter.”
In August 2024, an insider close to Lopez told Page Six of the relationship, “She just really didn’t stop to consider who the actual man was [in] the fairytale… big love Jennifer believes in [is] not in [Affleck’s] DNA… Ben has a darkness to him that no person can fix. Jen Garner couldn’t fix it, all the success in the world couldn’t fix it.”
Neither Lopez nor Affleck will pay spousal support and, will each be leaving the relationship with what they individually earned during the marriage. While Affleck will maintain his stake in the production company Artists Equity, which produced many projects Lopez has starred in.
Affleck and Lopez’s $68 million mansion in Beverly Hills has been listed on the market for a few months. While it has not been revealed how the profits from the mansion would one divvied up, it was reported that Lopez will be keeping her proposal ring.
