Jennifer Lopez has set to work on a new Spanish album – and her ex-husband Marc Anthony is on board to executive produce.
Lopez’s all-Spanish album exec-produced by Anthony will be her first all Spanish album in a decade, as Como Ama Una Mujer came out back in 2007. Incidentally, Anthony also worked on Como Ama Una Mujer, which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart, becoming the fifth Spanish-language album to crack the top 10 of the all-genre chart, Billboard reports.
“I am so excited and really looking forward to this new musical journey and to celebrate my Latin roots with Marc Anthony and the Sony/Magnus family,” Lopez said in a statement.
In his own statement, Anthony sang his ex-wife’s praises. “[Jennifer] has had enormous accomplishments in her career and has been representing our culture all over the world from day one,” he said.
“Her artistry, professionalism and passion for music are just some of the many attributes that have earned her a unique place in the entertainment world that very few people have been able to obtain,” Anthony added. “I am looking forward to our creative collaboration and to be part of continuing her musical legacy.”
Lopez’s new all-Spanish album is slated for release sometime in 2017, with the leading single set to drop in November. In the meantime, Lopez is continuing to film her TV series Shades of Blue and perform at her Las Vegas residency show All I Have.
