Jennifer Lopez Staying On 'Idol' Panel For Another Season

All you Jennifer Lopez fans can exhale! The multi-platinum singer, actress and clothing designer will be returning for a second season of judging on Fox's smash show, American Idol. The show's executive producer, Nigel Lythgoe, made an unofficial announcement Wednesday on Ryan Seacrest's radio show. According to Lythgoe, the mother of two will return to judge season 11 contestants on the reality singing competition.

"I believe we’re still waiting for the official announcements," Lythgoe said during On Air With Ryan Seacrest. "But I am delighted to say that all three judges, along with the brilliant host of American Idol, is back for the next season. Lopez will again be joined by record producer Randy Jackson — who's been a judge since the show's first season — and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler.

Lopez, 42, kept fans waiting for months to find out if she'd return to Idol. She landed the job earlier this year as a replacement for talk show personality Ellen Degeneres. During her first season, Lopez earned a whopping $12 million, but told the BBC that she wasn't sure she'd come back.

"I haven't been forced to make a decision and I'm glad about that because honestly I'm very on the fence about it," Lopez told BBC. "It's going to come down to me making a choice of what I want to do for the next year."

Looks like Lopez said yes. She'll reportedly earn $20 million this time around. Not bad for the soon-to-be divorcée who announced her split from Latin singer Marc Anthony last month. Fox has yet to confirm Lopez's return.
