Jennifer Lopez Morocco Concert Too Sexy, Singer Sued For “Sexually Suggestive” Show
Jennifer Lopez is reportedly being sued in Morocco by an education group that deemed her televised Morocco concert too sexy.
J Lo Sued In Morocco For Too Sexy Concert
Lopez traveled to Morocco to perform at the Mawazine World Rhythms International Music Festival in Rabat, Morocco, on May 29. The sexy singer performed a string of her hits, including “Booty” and “On The Floor,” and wore her recent signature concert outfits – bedazzled corsets and revealing onesies – in front of 160,000 in the audience. The concert was also televised on public national television in Morocco, and it appears that some thought Lopez’s moves were too hot to handle.
In the lawsuit, the “education” group says Lopez “disturbed public order and tarnished women’s honor and respect.” The suit names both Lopez and the concert promoter as defendants. If found guilty, Lopez could face a sentence of 1 month to 2 years in prison, though it is highly unlikely that any harm will come to our beloved J Lo.
Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane has also joined in the Lopez backlash, ordering an investigation into the airing of Lopez’s “sexually suggestive” set. Benkirane condemned the show for containing “disgraceful scenes” and alleged that the broadcast violated Morocco’s audiovisual law. Marocco’s minister of communication, Mustapha Khalfi, is being pressured to resign for allowing the broadcast. And Benkirane is calling on Morocco’s High Authority of Audiovisual Communication to “take legal measures against those responsible.”
Since Lopez’s performance, singers Akon and Usher, both known for singing about sex, have performed at the festival.
