Jennifer Lopez Keeps $2.5 Million After Canceling Tour Amid Ben Affleck Divorce Rumors

Earlier this month, pop star Jennifer Lopez canceled her upcoming This Is Me… Live summer tour amid divorce rumors with actor Ben Affleck. The tour was to promote Lopez’s new album, This Is Me… Now, inspired by her romance with the Batman v. Superman star.

Ticketing company LiveNation stated Lopez is “taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.” On her official website, Lopez also wrote, “I am completely heartsick and devasted about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”

The tour’s cancellation added further speculation about Lopez and Affleck’s marriage. Over the past few months, fans have wondered if a divorce is on the horizon for the couple after Affleck was spotted without his wedding band. Lopez has also appeared solo at several public events, such as the Met Gala and premiere of her latest film, Atlas

There were also reports that ticket sales for the tour were abysmal.

The couple was last photographed en route to Ben’s daughter’s recital, though they traveled separately before meeting. Their last public appearance was courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game with their children months ago. Sources have also said Affleck and Lopez live separately, but Affleck’s representatives cite Affleck filming a sequel to his film The Accountant.

After Lopez canceled the tour, the singer took home $2.5 million despite holding no concerts. According to LiveNation’s policies, artists can receive 25% of the guarantee from a canceled tour due to “poor ticket sales.”

Lopez says she hopes to mount another tour at a later date.
