Pop star Jennifer Lopez has canceled her upcoming summer tour, This Is Me… Now. The album, inspired by her romance with actor Ben Affleck, was released in early February along with its accompanying film, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story. The album comes ten years after her last album, A.K.A., released in 2014.
On Friday, LiveNation released a statement saying Lopez is “taking time off to be with her children, family and close friends.” Lopez also stated on her official website, “I am completely heartsick and devasted about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary.”
The tour’s cancellation comes amid divorce rumors between Lopez and husband Affleck. In May, Affleck was spotted in public without his wedding band but was later photographed with Lopez en route to their child’s recital. The couple were photographed for the first time together in 44 days. Their last public appearance was in March when the couple sat courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game.
Sources also say Lopez and Affleck have been living separately in Los Angeles. However, Affleck’s representatives say the couple has not been together because Affleck is filming a sequel to his 2016 film The Accountant. Lopez has also been looking for new property in Los Angeles, though the singer claims it is for investment purposes.
Last week, Lopez appeared solo at the screening of her latest film Atlas in Mexico City.
