Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have announced they are engaged to be married after two years of dating.

Both J.Lo and A-Rod announced their engagement on Saturday via a pair of Instagram photos. The singer is captured wearing a massive, emerald-cut diamond engagement ring, which is estimated to be worth at least $1 million.

The former baseball star, 43, popped the question to Lopez, 49, during a romantic, beach getaway in the Bahamas. “She said yes,” Rodriguez wrote, while Lopez simply captioned the image with eight heart emojis.

“They are on vacation and got engaged today,” the former New York Yankee’s manager Ron Berkowitz confirmed.

Many fans and celebrities were quick to congratulate the power couple on their good news, but nobody was quite as enthusiastic as Ellen DeGeneres who happily volunteered to spearhead the wedding planning.

“Yes. I’ll be your Maid of Honor,” the comedian, 61, commented on the engagement photo.

The talk show host has been urging the couple to take their relationship to the next step for months now, even telling the Second Act star last November that Rodriguez had texted her that he was getting ready to propose.

“He said that y’all are going to be getting married,” DeGeneres pried. Lopez did not bite, denying any future plans at the time. “He did not say that. … Let me see the text.”

The TV host wasn’t the only celebrity to send well-wishes to the newly engaged couple. Many stars, including Kourtney Kardashian, Gwen Stefani and Heidi Klum, reacted to the festive news on social media. “Boom,” Stefani wrote, while Kardashian and Klum added dozens of red hearts. 

This will mark the fourth walk down the aisle for Lopez, who shares 11-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with ex-husband Marc Anthony. Rodriguez has two daughters as well, Natasha, 14, and Ella, 10, with his ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. The blended families have spent much time together over the past couple of years.

Rodriguez has also talked about what an incredible role model Lopez has been to his young daughters. “My girls adore Jennifer,” he said. “She’s a great role model and they want to do exactly what Jennifer does. They want to sing, they want to dance, they want to produce, they want to direct. A lot of people don’t know she’s also a great athlete and great business person, and for me, I’m the luckiest father in the world to be able to expose my beautiful daughters to someone as brilliant as Jennifer.”

The duo made their red carpet debut in May 2017 at the Met Gala and have been pretty inseparable ever since.

The superstar noted last month that Rodriguez made her feel young again. “You make my world a more beautiful safe and stable place… in the midst of our ever-changing, ever-moving life… you make me feel like a teenager starting out all over again,” Lopez wrote to celebrate their two-year anniversary. “Every time I think I have you pegged, you surprise me in the most wonderful ways reminding me how blessed I am to have found you now in this moment at this time… our time.”

In his own anniversary post, Rodriguez looked towards their future. “Macha 13, I can’t believe it’s been two years,” he wrote to Lopez. “Only 730 days, which have flown by, but it feels like we have been together forever. We are meant to be, and how much you mean to me cannot be put into words.”

“From baseball games, to traveling across the world to shows in Vegas. We have done it all together and every moment with you is cherished,” he continued. “Where this road will take us next is unknown but there is no one else I would rather have by my side. The journey is just beginning and I am excited for what’s ahead.”
