In the season seven episode “Goodbye, Michael,” Michael had decided to leave Scranton, Penn., to join his fiancee Holly (Amy Ryan) in Colorado. He manages to say goodbye to everyone at the Dunder Mifflin Branch, except for Pam, who was running errands at the time.

Michael is seen leaving in a taxi and the same time Pam pulls up into the parking lot, leading to Jim (John Krasinski) to tell his wife to meet Michael at the airport.

After getting through airport security, Pam manages to catch Michael before his flight, however by this time he has already taken office his mic, making the documentary team unable to hear their exchanges. However, they did film the two saying their goodbyes.

Fischer shared that the exchange was a goodbye from her and from Pam. “That was me talking to Steve. I told him all the ways I was going to miss him when he left our show,” Fischer said during the Instagram chat. “Those were real tears and a real goodbye. That was a really emotional scene.”
