Jelly Roll Convinces Prince Harry To Get A Neck Tattoo In Viral Video To Support Invictus Games
On Tuesday, Prince Harry got his first tattoo from the famous since Jelly Roll – and regretted it.
Harry, in an efort recruit Jelly Roll to headline the closing ceremony of the Invictus Games Vancouver 2025, traveled to East Side Ink in New York City.
Invictus Games Instagram posted alongside the caption, “The most 🤯 inking of a deal in Invictus Games history. Watch when Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, meets @jellyroll615 @eastsideinktattoo. Don’t miss this duo reuniting in Vancouver #IG25 Closing Ceremony Feb 16. Get 🎟️ before they sell out, via our bio!”
In the clip, Harry, seated in a chair at the tattoo parlor, is greeted by Jelly Roll. The singer tells Harry, “I’m such a fan dude. I could not believe it when they called me and told me Prince Harry wanted to get a tattoo. And he wanted me to give him his first tattoo… that is the coolest thing ever.”
After Harry looks confused, Jelly Roll explained, “We’re giving you a tattoo about the Invictus Games.” Harry quickly explained that he came to the shop to ask the singer if he would headline at the Invictus Games in February – he clarified, “There’s no tattoo in this. I can’t get a tattoo.”
Jelly Roll bargained, “I’ll play the Invictus Games if you just let me give you your first tattoo.”
Surprisingly, Harry gave in. “All right, screw it, let’s go.” Jelly Roll joked about giving Harry a neck tattoo, but Harry responded, “I was thinking the lower back or on my a–.”
Jelly Roll insisted, “Nobody wants to see your ass, Harry. This is for the world.” He managed to persuade Harry to get a neck tattoo and, even more impressive, convince Harry to let him give him a surprise tattoo.
Harry did not handle the pain well. The resulting tattoo did not make up for it: a blunt, messy statement, “I am Jelly Roll.”
Bewildered, Harry asked, “You put your name on my neck?”
Jelly Roll runs away from Harry and yells, “I’ll see you in Vancouver. I appreciate you!”
The 2025 Invictus Games will take place from Feb. 8 to 16 and feature events such as snowboarding, Nordic skiing, wheelchair curling and much more.
East Side Ink is known for catering to celebrity clients like Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johnson.
Harry has been busy promoting in upcoming games. In February, he practiced the skeleton sled for a photo op in Whistler, Canada.
