Former governor of Florida Jeb Bush “slow jams” the news of his decision to run for the 2016 presidential elections, on The Tonight Show Starring with Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night.
Fallon, accompanied by the soothing slow jams of the Roots, filled the segment with hilarious innuendos calling Bush a “caucus tease” now that the Gov finally stopped “beating around the Bush.”
Bush managed to keep a somewhat straight face while announcing his campaign for the Republican nomination. “Now that you’re fully in, what makes you think you got what it takes to go all the way,” Fallon asked. Bush didn’t even crack a smile as he said, “Well in my two terms as governor, I cut taxes every year, passed the first state-wide school choice system and created 1.3 million new jobs—the most in the country. So, I know we could fix the problems facing our nation, because I’ve already done it during my eight years in Florida,” responded Bush.
Fallon hummed in agreement and said that Bush has “a lot of experience down south.” Bush, also known as “the white Lebron”—nicknamed by the Roots—also gave his stance on immigration in both English and Spanish. “Well Jimmy, we’re a nation of immigrants and I believe everyone should have the chance to achieve the American dream.”
Gov. Bush isn’t the first presidential candidate to slow jam the news with Fallon, however. Check out how other presidential candidates in the past slow-jammed the news:
