Transgender teen Jazz Jennings has been named the face of the Clean & Clear “See the Real Me” campaign, according to the brand.

Jazz Jennings Teams With Clean & Clear

Jennings, who was diagnosed with gender dysmorphia as a child, has been presenting as a girl since age 5. In the Clean & Clear video, she says, “I’ve always known who I am. I was a girl trapped in a boy’s body. Growing up has been quite a struggle being transgender, especially in middle school. Some kids greet each other with hugs and then just give me a hi. And sometimes I’ve even been called it, so I basically kept to myself. But this year, I decided to make a change and put myself out there and make new friends.”

“For the first time I invited girls over to the house and we started hanging out more; it was a great time for me and it still is,” she went on in the clip. “The real me is happy and proud to be who I am. and I’m just having fun being one of the girls. I’m Jazz. See the real me.”

In a recent interview, Jennings talked about the See the Real Me campaign, which encourages young girls to be themselves, whoever that happens to me.

“The See the Real Me campaign is so great at helping girls find the courage to open up to their peers and be themselves, and I could really relate to that,” she told PopSugar. “I knew doing this campaign would help a lot of teens who are struggling like I did.”

“I don’t really use a lot of products besides Clean & Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub because I don’t put on a lot of makeup,” she told the outlet. “In the morning when I wake up, I’ll exfoliate. Then at night when I shower, I’ll also use an exfoliating scrub. My routine is easy, and I just get clean skin,” she explained.

Jennings has become a major role model for young people dealing with gender dysmorphia, landing in TIME’s 2014 Most Influential Teens List. She’s now bringing her life story to a wider audience in the TLC reality series All That Jazz.

“Jazz’s story is universal, yet unique,” said TLC’s General Manager Nancy Daniels. “And we’re proud to partner with her family to share it with TLC’s audience.”
