Jason Segel Is Looking Skinny; Shed Weight For Movie Role

Jason Segel, best known for playing Marshall Eriksen on How I Met Your Mother, has dropped a considerable amount of weight for his leading role in his new movie Sex Tape.

In Sex Tape, which is currently filming in Boston, Segal plays opposite Cameron Diaz as her husband. According to the actor, unlike roles he’s had in the past, this one requires some nudity on his part that doesn’t need to be funny.

"This time when I take my shirt off, I've made a promise to myself, it doesn't have to be funny," he told Us Weekly. "I took heat for Forgetting Sarah Marshall, where I was completely nude. But different characters require different body types.”

“[Sex Tape] is R-rated,” Segel added, “and I’m not in shape for no reason.”

How has Segel traded in his softer physique for his svelte new look? "I've just been living healthy, exercising, eating right—no more midnight pizzas," he told Us.

Helmed by Bad Teacher director Jake Kasdan and written by Kate Angelo, Sex Tape follows Segel and Diaz’s characters as they try to recover a sex tape that goes missing the day after they make it.
