Jason Momoa Denies Rumors He Is In Talks To Appear In 'Man Of Steel' Sequel
Jason Momoa made an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival his promote his new show The Red Road and he took the opportunity to clear up rumors surrounding his involvement in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel.
Rumor: Jason Momoa To Play Aquaman
Rumors started in December, 2013, when reports circulated that Momoa was in talks to join the Man of Steel “Batman vs. Superman” film, possibly playing the role of Martian Manhunter or villain Doomsday. Momoa denied the rumors that he was close to signing a deal for either of the roles, but now rumors have been tweaked. Some suspect he is in talks to join the film as Aquaman, a member of the Justice League.
Should Momoa appear in Man of Steel 2 as Aquaman, it would all but confirm Warner Bros./DC plans for a Justice League film in the near future. Already, the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the anticipated sequel has kicked the rumors of a Justice League film into high gear.
Unfortunately, when asked about those rumors at Sundance, Momoa denied their validity yet again, saying, “I get it all the time. It’s just a rumor. I swear.”

For now, Momoa is focusing on The Red Road, an original show that will premiere on the Sundance Channel in February. In the thriller/drama, Momoa plays a Native American caught in the middle of a conflict between his small Native American tribe settlement and the nearby small town.
Man of Steel 2, or “Batman vs. Superman” film, is now aiming for release on May 6, 2015 (nine months later than originally announced), and will be directed by Man of Steel director, Zack Snyder.
