Football star Travis Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, spoke up for his sibling after a viral video showed Jason smashing a football fan’s phone in response to a homophobic comment directed at him.

On Nov. 2 at Beaver Stadium in State College, Pennsylvania, Jason, a former player for the Philadelphia Eagles, took action after a man declared Kelce “A f—– dating Taylor Swift.”

Jason sprung into action, destroyed the man’s phone and taunted, “Who’s the f—– now!”

Jason addressed his behavior on a Nov. 6 episode of the brothers’ podcast, New Heights. Kelce prompted Jason, “I know you wanted to clear some of the air, so go ahead.”

Jason reflected, “I’m not happy about the situation. Me reacting gave him the time of day, and it also gave the situation notoriety. That’s what I regret. It didn’t deserve attention; it’s really stupid.”

Jason lamented the instigating provocation, “It’s dehumanizing, and it got under my skin, and it elicited a reaction.”

He added, “I know now that I shouldn’t have done that, because now there’s a video out there with my saying that word, him saying that word, and it’s not good for anybody.”

Travis praised Jason, “The real situation is you had some f—ing clown come up to you and talk about your family and you reacted in a way that was defending your family…You might have used some words that you regret using and that’s a situation that you just gotta kind of learn from and own.”
