Jason Aldean defended his relationship with his mistress turned girlfriend Brittany Kerr after a photo of the couple posted on his official Instagram received hateful comments from fans.

On Sunday, Aug. 10, country star Aldean shared the controversial photo, featuring Kerr, a French bulldog and himself before his Chicago concert.

The photo, which is not the first time Aldean and Kerr have publicly confirmed their relationship, drew anger from fans still disturbed by Aldean’s extra-marital fling with Kerr in 2012, when he was still married to his ex-wife.

After seeing the backlash, Aldean took to Instagram once more to defend himself and Kerr with a photo that reads, “You know my name, not my story. You’ve heard what I’ve done, not what I’ve been through.”

In the caption, Aldean wrote that he was “so sick of people judging me and [Britanny Kerr],” and told his fans that “it’s time to move on.”

“So sick of people judging me and @britannylkerr over things they know nothing about. I have made mistakes but I am a better person because of it, and wouldn’t change a thing. I’m happier than I have ever been, so thank u to all the people who support us. We are happy and life goes on. It’s time to move on people. #adeanarmy #oldnews #timetomoveon,” Aldean wrote.

Did Jason Aldean Cheat On His Wife With Kerr?

In October of 2012, a married Aldean was photographed getting touchy with Kerr at a bar in West Hollywood and apologized to his fans on Twitter. At the time, the father of two dismissed his relationship with Kerr as a drunk flirtation.

“The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar. I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that’s the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself,” Aldean wrote.

In Spring of 2013, Aldean and his ex-wife, Jessica Ussery, released a statement confirming that the two were experiencing marital problems, but refused to elaborate. Aldean filed for divorce soon after, and in March of 2014, it was confirmed that Aldean and Kerr were dating.
