Jared Leto won’t be rocking his infamous man-bun anytime soon, as the actor recently unveiled a shorter look in preparation for the filming of Suicide Squad.

Leto will play the Joker in the DC film, and, though the actor has been rocking impressively long hair for the better part of two years, he recently parted ways with his ombré waves.

Suicide Squad director David Ayer has been tweeting about the film’s pre-production, giving fans behind the scenes looks at the building of the set and other fun tidbits leading up to filming. On Sunday, March 1, Ayer teased that Suicide Squad fans were in for a treat on Monday, writing, “Something will happen. Tomorrow.”

The following day, Ayer delivered on his promise, sharing photos of the moment they cut off Leto’s ponytail!

Leto, too, teased fans in preparation for his haircut, posting a photo showcasing his long locks with the caption, “Going, going…” on Feb. 28.

On Monday, Leto shared the same ‘after’ photo as Ayer, captioning it, “Gone!”

Little is known about the plot of Suicide Squad, which is set to take place in the same DC universe as Man of Steel and the upcoming Batman v Superman. The film will also star Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.

Suicide Squad will be filmed in Canada and is set to officially begin filming in April. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016, and Suicide Squad is scheduled for release on Aug. 5, 2016.
