It’s rather surprising to learn that there were in fact things that happened during the Donald Trump presidency that were not immediately leaked. In fact, Jared Kushner claims in his memoir he was diagnosed with and treated for thyroid cancer all while working as a White House employee.
According to an excerpt from Kushner’s memoir, he discovered that he had cancer while on Air Force One flying to Texas “to attend the opening of a Louis Vuitton factory.” This allegedly occurred in October of 2019, and Kushner successfully had the surgery a month afterward and seems to have fully recovered.
Kushner wrote that he tried to keep the information from his father-in-law, but it did end up getting back to Donald Trump who encouraged him in the Oval Office the day before the surgery.
Kushner is probably relieved that all he has to focus on right now is promoting this memoir and not fighting to prove his innocence in the January 6 attacks on the Capitol. Kushner and his wife Ivanka Trump were both high-ranking Trump administration officials, and the first Trump family members to be interviewed by the House Select Committee on the January 6 attack.
