Rochelle Herman-Walrond, a former journalist, unveiled shocking audio tape conversations that she recorded of ex-Subway spokesman Jared Fogle, on an exclusive Dr. Phil special on Thursday.
Fogle, 38, was arrested earlier this year and agreed to plead guilty to traveling to engage in paid sex with minors and distribution and receipt of child pornography.
Walrond admitted to secretly recording telephone conversations in which Fogle discusses his sexual interest and sexual encounters with children. The former journalist decided to share the recordings for the first time on a Dr. Phil exclusive.
“In the same recording Jared flips very quickly from phone-sex mode, to a very matter-of-fact approach on how to lure children,” Dr. Phil tells a teary-eyed Walrond. “How to gain their trust so they can be abused.”
“Yes,” Walrond responds, wiping her tears away.
The recording plays and Walrond can be heard asking Fogle: “What turns you on most? Like the young girls or the young boys?”
“You know, both of them do,” Fogle answers. “I need to see if one of these little boys are a possibility for us.”
“Is there any kind of personality to look for?” Walrond asks.
“I think it just kind of depends on the situation,” Fogle says. “But I think that girl from the broken home could be a possibility, you know.”
Fogle is scheduled for sentencing Nov. 19 and prosecutors are seeking a sentence of between 5-12 years in prison.
