Janet Jackson, 50, welcomed a son into the world yesterday with husband Wissam Al Mana, 42.
The boy’s name is Eissa Al Mana and the child is the couple’s first together. “Janet had a stress-free healthy delivery and is resting comfortably,” confirmed a rep for the singer.
Jackson and Al Mana wed in 2012, and last May Jackson delayed her Unbreakable World Tour because “my husband and I are planning our family.”
Jackson has said very little about her pregnancy, save for a photo she shared in October of her baby bump sharing her excitement about the child. “We thank God for our blessing,” the photo was captioned. In September, she was spotted running errands picking up baby supplies, and a source took that opportunity to share how excited Jackson is about having a baby. “She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well,” the source said.
Jackson’s youngest brother Jermaine Jackson, who has nine children of his own, is confident Janet will be a great mom. “She’ll be a great mother because she is very tough, very strict,” said Jermaine. “But I tell her, ‘If you need any parenting skills or baby skills, let me know because I’m the best diaper changer there is on this planet, still to this day.”
