Singer Janet Jackson confirmed publicly for the first time that, at 50, she is expecting her first child.
In May, Jackson postponed her Unbreakable World Tour so she could focus on planning a family with her husband Wissam Al Mana, 41. Jackson wed Al Mana, a Quatari businessman, in 2012. He is Jackson’s third husband.
The announcement comes with a picture of a glowing Jackson showing off her baby bump. “We thank God for our blessing,” she says.
Jackson has kept out of the public eye for the last few months, and was last seen shopping at London’s Back in Action furniture store, supposedly looking for items for the baby. Despite brother Tito Jackson spilling the beans about her pregnancy, the only hint Janet herself had given was her recent song called “Dammn Baby.”
“She is super excited about her pregnancy and is doing extremely well,” a source tells People. “She actually feels very good about everything.”
