Jane Lynch and wife Dr. Lara Embry are divorcing after three years of marriage.

Lynch, 52, didn’t give a reason for her divorce with psychologist Embry, 44, but did ask for privacy. “Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another,” Lynch told People.

“We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter.”

Embry was reportedly absent from the Tony Awards Sunday night, where Lynch – who has recently taken on the role of Miss Hannigan in the Broadway revival of Annie – performed with the cast of Annie. She performed “Little Girls,” a song she also covered on the show Glee. Lynch will be on Broadway in the role until July 14.

Lynch and Embry met in 2009 and married on Memorial Day in 2010. They had a small ceremony in Sutherland, Mass., attended by 19 people. Lynch was reportedly very close to her stepdaughter, Embry’s daughter from a previous relationship, Haden Embry.
