Jamie Sangouthai, a close friend of Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian‘s, died of an apparent heroin overdose. He was 37.
Sangouthai was rushed to a hospital in downtown Los Angeles Sunday after someone called 911, according to TMZ. He died later that day.
Sangouthai was one of Odom’s closest friends and appeared on Keeping Up with the Kardashians spinoff Khloé & Lamar. On the show, Sangouthai’s drug issues were highlighted. Incidentally, Kardashian and others apparently blamed Sangouthai for Odom’s spiral into a crack cocaine binge two years ago.
Kardashian posted about Sangouthai’s death on Twitter, writing, “When does it stop? RIP Jamie Sangouthai.” She also captioned a drawing of a woman crying posted to Instagram, “Life doesn’t get easier but I promise you that life will make you stronger.”
Malika, who was friends with Sangouthai along with Odom and Kardashian, also addressed his passing on Instagram. “Thru good and bad times life shows us every spirit matters and leaves a print on the hearts of others after they have passed,” she captioned a picture of the four of them. “RIP Jamie Sangouthai #GodHelpUsAll.”
